Senior Blades were delighted to learn that one of our members, Mike Jackson, had been awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for Services to the Community in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
Mike now joins two other Senior Blades, Larry Angel and Graham Moore who have also been given this prestigious award in previous years.
A lifelong Blade, Mike began his Blades supporting career in 1956 and now has his season ticket seat in the Tony Currie Stand. He has, of course, passed on his love of the Blades to his keen supporting family, son Chris and daughter Lisa. When asked about his award, Mike said he was shocked and surprised to be nominated and added that he thought there should also be an award for all our supporters who have shared the roller coaster journey of being a Blade!
