On International Women’s Day, Sheffield United have featured two Senior Blades Women members in the matchday programme for the Middlesbrough game Below is part of the article that appeared in the programme:
It would be hard to find two more prominent female supporters in Sheffield United’s history than Kathryn Woodward and Beryl Whitney. As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2022, UTB turns the focus on two prominent and important individuals who have played, and continue to play, major roles within United’s major supporter groups.
For 25 years Beryl was a key player within the Official Supporters Club and wife of the much-missed Chairman Peter, whilst Kathryn has been a committee member for the Senior Blades – and has now taken on the role as the first female chair following the recent retirement of Brian Walton.
Both are attending as guests in the boardroom at tonight’s game with Middlesbrough.
As we celebrate the role of two prominent females, we hear how their association with Sheffield United grew in their own words……….……
