On Thursday 19 September, a party of Senior Blades left Bramall Lane for their last trip of the summer to Lytham & St Anne’s on the Fylde coast in Lancashire. The weather was perfect, which means this year we have had two days with brilliant sunshine. Everyone loved their day, strolling in the late autumn sun along the promenade and enjoying a welcome ice cream. Some members called into the Memorial Garden to view the statue of the late comedian, Les Dawson, who used to live in the area. Sue Foster, our Excursions Officer, is already starting to plan the outings for next year and is happy to listen to suggestions from members. Our photo shows some of the group enjoying their day on a promenade stroll.
