Once Christmas is over, our busy Excursions Officer, Sue Foster, gets out the brochures and leaflets she has been collecting over the previous summer months and starts compiling her list of ‘possibles’ for our Senior Blades early and later summer trips.
Sue has just confirmed the date and location for our first outing on Wednesday 15 May, 2019, to Hanbury Hall, a stately home near Droitwich
Spa in Worcestershire. It was completed in 1701 and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and parkland and is a National Trust property.
From there, we will be moving on to Webbs of Wychbold, just a short drive from Hanbury Hall, one of the biggest garden centres in the UK
and a three times winner of Garden Centre of the year.
The cost (which includes entrance to Hanbury Hall) for members is £25 and non members £30. For National Trust members the cost is £14 and membership cards will need to be shown on the day. There is now a small variation on the prices, if you wish to see the house, parks and gardens, the price is as quoted above. If you wish to see just the parks and gardens the cost for this is £22 for members and £27 for guests.
