October 2022 Newsletter
Hello all Senior Blades
As we’re sure you are all aware, there are cost of living issues at the moment and for us at Senior Blades it is no different. We are currently having to provide a subsidy for the monthly meetings to take place in their usual form, providing a three-course lunch and having a speaker/entertainment.
Over the next few weeks, the Committee will be looking at various options to try to address this issue, which could include reviewing the cost of the meal.
Please contact the Committee if you have any observations.
Christmas tickets will be going on sale at our October lunch at a cost of £22 each for members. (See our extra newsletter regarding the Christmas lunch, menu and booking arrangements)
‘Football – an insider’s job’
Former Sheffield United Secretary Dick Chester, has written a book about his life in football, including the time he spent at Bramall Lane. This can be purchased for £10 and will be
delivered to Senior Blades for collection, if enough are ordered. If you wish to order one, please contact Stephen Gibbons. (email email@example.com or phone o7505 559678)
Senior Blades Sponsored Player
Before the season commences, we have to give four names for consideration for sponsoring. This year, one of our selections was Will Osula and this is who we had originally. As you will know, Will is now with Derby County on a season long loan so we now have another player who we are sponsoring and that is Ollie McBurnie.
As you will already be aware our re-arranged fixture with Rotherham United is now to take place on Tuesday 8th November. This was the date of our November lunch but this has had to be re-arranged too and will now take place on Thursday 10th November 2022. Please make a note of this new date.
