Looking forward to the next three months, here are the entertainment/speakers we have booked for your enjoyment at our monthly lunches.
9th May
Another favourite coming back to entertain us is Jon Alex accompanied by Chris Firminger. Both Jon and Chris went down really well on their last visit, so we are looking forward to seeing them both again.
13th June
Our AGM will start the proceedings on this date, followed by ‘one of our own’ Tony Currie. Although Tony is our MC at the Senior Blades lunches, many of our guests have probably not heard him tell his own story. We are hoping our Club Historian, John Garrett, will be taking Tony through his journey from schoolboy player to the Blades Golden Boy.
11th July
In July, we welcome John Slater who will be doing a talk on ‘Sheffield, the home of Football’ and he will also address ‘Other Sheffield Sporting History’ and as we are all aware, there are many greats who came from our City, that could include Tennis player, Roger Taylor and Olympian athletes Seb Coe and Dame Jessica Ennis Hill. A very interesting talk for us to look forward to.
