After considering various options, Sue Foster, our Excursions Officer, has settled on Skipton as the destination for our first summer trip.
We will be leaving Cherry Street at 8.0am as usual on Monday 11th May and heading north to Skipton, which has recently been listed as one of the best and happiest places to live in the UK! It is situated on the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool canal, with an ancient castle which was first built as a wooden structure in 1090 and then strengthened with stone in the 12th century. So lots of history there and it’s market day too!
