During a telephone conversation about Senior Blades business, a couple of our Committee members got talking about Christmas cards. One of them commented how much she disliked writing a load of cards and the other member felt the same. From these brief comments, an idea developed. Both women agreed that it would be an idea to ask all the Committee if, instead of sending cards to each other, as we usually do, why not donate to charity instead. Now it just so happened that the backroom staff of Sheffield United were taking part in the United for Prostate Cancer UK Challenge, along with assistance from Billy Sharp, our sponsored player Ollie Norwood and Phil Jagielka. We are delighted to say that all our Committee members were fully behind this idea and we were able to make the donation to a very worthy cause. Details are still available on the club website if anyone else wishes to contribute.
The Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank two of our members, Irene Gascoigne and Keith Firminger, for their help in offering to represent Senior Blades in a short film which was made by James Laley from Rainbow Blades. James gathered together a number of Blades supporters to send messages of support to Chris Wilder and the players to let them know that we are fully behind them in their journey to climb up the Premier League. We know you can do it!
