On Wednesday 28th September a party of 24 Senior Blades made their own way to Wentworth Woodhouse for a tour round the spectacular house there, which has the longest facade of 606 feet, of any country house in Europe. Set in lovely grounds and gardens and on a beautiful autumn day, it was a fantastic day out. We had two groups and one of our guides David had a wealth of knowledge about the history of the house and made the tour extremely interesting. After the tour and a stroll round the gardens, some made their way to the equally enjoyable Wentworth garden centre and enjoyed a very nice lunch there too. Thanks to Sue for organising the outing and we are already looking forward to our first trip next year to another enjoyable spot!
