Senior Blades May 2022


We will be holding the AGM at our lunch meeting on the 14th June. If you wish to attend the AGM only, this will start at approximately 2.00 pm in the Platinum Suite. Copies of the accounts will be available on the tables. If you have any questions or matters you wish to raise please send them in writing to our Secretary, 13 Wollaton Avenue, S17 4LA by the 31st May. The business meeting will be followed by entertainer Joseph O’Brien –back by popular demand.


Once again, thanks to all members who have voted for our Player of the Year in much greater numbers.  The award this year is extra special as for the first time, we will be presenting our winner with a trophy at the Club’s presentation dinner on 7th May..  All members who have voted for our winning player will go into a draw and we hope to present the prize to the lucky recipient at the May lunch, if they are attending on that day.  Members will be notified by email with the result.


.There are just a few places left on the day trip to York (plus an optional tour of York Chocolate Story)  on Thursday 19th May. The coach will leave Cherry Street at 8.00 am prompt and return approximately 7.00 pm. £15 for members and £20 for non-members and £12.50 for the optional tour. 10th May Andy Pack…Andy will entertain us with his wide range of knowledge on football and of course Sheffield United.

14th June  Joseph O’Brien…Due to popular demand, we are delighted to  welcome back Joseph O’Brien, a dynamic singer who also has a musical theatre background.

Please note there will be no lunch meeting in July due to Bramall Lane hosting the UEFA Women’s Euro Competition.

13th September  Carl Asaba…Carl played for a number of English clubs including a spell with the Blades where he scored 23 goals in 67 appearances.


Senior Blade Andy Harper returns to Skegness this year with his challenging sporting event  FOOTPUT 9, which is situated on South Parade on the old bowling green site. It opens daily from  the 28th May until the end of August at 11.00 am till 5.00 pm, weather permitting. A discount is available to Senior Blades and their families on production of the current membership card. Andy also donates to his company charities which this year are British Heart Foundation and Prostate Cancer.


As we enter May and the closing stages of this years SENIOR BLADES SUPER 6IX competition, things couldn’t be closer with just one point seperating last years winner JACK BOWS and ARTHUR MASON.
