At our Annual General Meeting in June, two of our long- standing Committee members decided not to stand for re-election. Vice -Chair Beryl Whitney and Treasurer David Hughes, who between them had served thirty years, gave notice of their resignations. Both Beryl and David have made great contributions to the running of Senior Blades during their terms of office and we wish to thank them for their unstinting service. We will miss their input but, of course, will see them at our lunch meetings as usual.
Secretary Sheila Herring presented Beryl and David each with a gift on behalf of everyone and we wish them both a long and enjoyable ‘retirement’ from Committee duties.
We are receiving many enquiries from people wishing to join Senior Blades, below is useful information to let potential new members know of the ways this can be done:
- At the monthly lunch meetings
- By post, to the Membership Secretary, 13 Wollaton Avenue, Sheffield S17 4LA
- Using the Senior Blades box in the Sheffield United Ticket Office (application forms available there)
Please note, all cheques (for £5 joining fee) to be made payable to Sheffield United Senior Blades.
